Services

I specialize in online startups and small businesses. And by that I mean, if you are pre-funding, investor-backed, self-funded or just plain running your own show and find the comings and goings of clients is a little too mysterious, then I can help you out… in a big way.

If you like what you’ve seen in these pages and you think you might want to boldly and strategically go after that too-good-to-be-true target market, send me an email and we’ll meet up for coffee.

All D/C Strategic marketing services are based on a Four-Stage Process.

  • The Target: Select the target community that could make you rich and happy.
  • The Package: Refine and enhance the product to make it something the target would really, really want. (it’s actually pretty easy)
  • The Path: Establish sequence of events that would make the target want to pay attention, want to become a client, and want to buzz.
  • The Promotion: Put it all together into phases and stages to take you from where you are today to where you want to be.

And the three levels of service are….

Workshops
Currently I offer three types of workshops:

  • Marketing University Intensive
Designed for the do-it-yourselfer, the four-part, month long Marketing University will give you more than just a step-by-step plan. It will give you the skills and understanding you need to run your own long-term word-of-mouth marketing system. For graduates, ongoing follow-up support is offered for individuals and groups.
  • Get-Clients-Now Workshop
This one-shot, two-hour workshop is designed to give you a precise step-by-step plan to boost your business right now. Though any business can benefit from it, it’s especially valuable for businesses who are flummoxed by the Referral Paradox (Happy clients do not equal effective referrals).
  • Top-Ten Marketing Mistakes
This one’s always a hit. Often co-taught with copywriter Chris Haddad of Haddad Ink, we cover critical missteps that kill or mame most marketing campaigns. It’s fun-filled and will leave you with some frightening insights into your own muddled marketing past.

If you’re interested in attending a workshop or setting up a customized workshop, feel free to contact me with any questions you have.

Individual Consulting

The Promotion: If you’re working on a promotion or even considering one, I strongly urge you to consider this level. And if your promotion is designed to “just get your name out there,” then I’d say it’s a moral imperative that you call me. With The Promotion we’ll take two sessions to whip through the Four Stages to design your very own focused, effective, immediate-term campaign.

The Intensive: Covers the same ground as Marketing University, but is conducted on a personal basis and on a flexible timeline. It’s great for anyone who can’t make it to the courses or who needs a particularly elaborate plan. And, like the University, we cover it all in four sessions.

The Comprehensive: With this one we work together every step of the way - from the initial Targeting brainstorming session right through the first promotion.

When you meet with members of the Target market, I’ll be there making sure we learn exactly what we need to know. If we need a graphic designer, I’ll help you find the one that’s right for you and I’ll work with them until the work is just right for our strategy. If we put together a group of professionals to cross-promote with, I’ll be there leading the meetings and cracking the whip. And when the whole strategy comes together and we launch it to the world, I’ll be there to make sure it’s done according to plan.

Though it’s technically possible to go from Start to Finish in a single month, it typically takes about two months.

Hired Gun
This level is designed for the just-make-it-happen crowd. If you feel you have better things to do than worry about your marketing, then this is the one for you. In the beginning we’ll work through the Four Stages. Then we’ll develop the action plan that gives you the level of involvement you want. Then I make it happen.

For some clients I’m like an outsourced marketing department. For some I oversee and delegate to their staff. And for others I give them deadlines, timelines and tasks, then crack the whip until they do it.
